Provisional Standard Specification for Child-Resistant Portable Gasoline Containers for Consumer Use (Withdrawn 2005)
1.1 This provisional specification establishes recognized requirements for child-resistant portable gasoline containers intended for use by consumers. This specification does not cover single-trip prepackaged containers.
1.2 This provisional specification is not a fire hazard standard, but a specification for containers.
1.3 This provisional specification is intended to be technically equivalent to 16CFR1700.15 and 16CFR1700.20.
1.4 Provisional standards achieve limited consensus through approval of the sponsoring subcommittee.
