WITHDRAWN, 9/24/2012

Minimum requirements for chain link fencing and posts:

Chain link fencing must be constructed using galvanized steel, aluminum-coated, or similarly rust-resistant materials to ensure durability and longevity.

Posts should be made of steel or other corrosion-resistant materials and must be securely anchored in concrete footings. The depth of the footings should be at least 24 inches below ground level to prevent shifting.

Fencing height should comply with local regulations but generally must be no less than 4 feet for residential properties.

The mesh size of the chain link fabric should not exceed 2 inches by 2 inches, and the wire gauge should be no thinner than 9 gauge for adequate strength.

Top rails must be installed on all fences taller than 4 feet to provide additional support, and tension bands and tie wires must be used to secure the mesh to the posts and rails.
