Retrofit kits for luminaire conversion
This is the first edition of CSA C22.2 No. 250.1, Retrofit kits for luminaire conversion . This Standard replaces the retrofit kit requirements of CSA TIL B-79A, Interim Certification Requirements for LED Retrofit Kits and Field Retrofitted Luminaires, and CSA TIL B-64A, Requirements for Retrofit Assemblies Employing Fluorescent, Self Ballasted (SBL) and Induction Lamp Retrofit Assemblies and Retrofitted Luminaires Utilizing Those Assemblies. This Standard is one of a series of Standards issued by CSA Group under Part II of the Canadian Electrical Code. The requirements for retrofit kits and retrofitted luminaires of this Standard supplement the requirements of the products covered by CSA C22.2 No. 250.0. This Standard has been developed in compliance with Standards Council of Canada requirements for National Standards of Canada. It has been published as a National Standard of Canada by CSA Group.
This Standard covers the minimum safety requirements for retrofit kits intended to be installed as an alternate source of illumination in previously installed luminaires that already comply with the requirements of CSA C22.2 No. 250.0. Note: The types of retrofit kits covered are listed in Clause 1.2.

This Standard applies to retrofit kits only for the luminaire types that are covered by the scope of CSA C22.2 No. 250.0.
Notes:
In this Standard, "shall" is used to express a requirement, i.e., a provision that the user is obliged to satisfy in order to comply with the standard; "should" is used to express a recommendation or that which is advised but not required; and "may" is used to express an option or that which is permissible within the limits of the Standard.
