Revision Standard - Active. (Reaffirmed 2020).
Specific test procedures for verifying the compliance of unlicensed personal communications services (UPCS) devices (including wideband voice and data devices) are established, including applicable regulatory requirements regarding radio-frequency emission levels and spectrum access procedures.
This standard sets forth uniform methods of measurement of the electromagnetic and operational compatibility of unlicensed personal communications services (UPCS) devices.
This standard does not cover licensed personal communications services (PCS) devices. The recommended methods are applicable to the radio transmitter and monitoring devices contained in the UPCS device. These methods apply to the measurement of individual UPCS devices.
Additional methods may be added to this standard to fulfill future requirements.
In addition to the measurements specified herein, UPCS devices may also be required to be tested in accordance with other standards. Examples are listed in Annex A.
