This document defines general terms used in the safety requirements for cableway installations designed to carry persons. The document concerns terms used in the design, manufacture, erection, maintenance and operation of the installations and is restricted to: - those terms which form part of the vocabulary specific to these installations; - those terms, whether scientific, technical or in every day use, which have a particular meaning in this field or which it appears necessary to define in greater detail.
